train, Air conditioned! aur mere dabbo ka bhoora rang tha. Mai apne rajya ke Capital yani Howrah se subah chalti thi aur Asansol, Patna, Mughalsarai hote hue DElhi ki taraf jati thi. Rasste me mujhe Allahabad ke paas ganga nadi ke upar se gujarne ka gaurav prapt hota tha. Log mujhe pul par rok kar ganga nadi me sikke phenkte the. Do mahine baad mere judwa behen ki shuruat hui. Usko Angrejo dwara banaya gaya "Grand Chord" yani Dhanbad-Gaya hokar bheja jata tha. Mai hafte me 4 din jati thi aur wo hafte me 3 din. Hum dono ka Howrah se nikalne ka samay ek hi tha lekin wo chhote raste se jakar Delhi jaldi pahuch jati thi. Fir hum logo me Sleeper aur General coaches jode gaye. 1969 me hamare rajya me raja ka aagman hua, yahi Howrah Rajdhani ka. Fir, 2000 me hamare rajye me maharani ki shuruaat hui, yani Sealdah Rajdhani. uske 1-2 saal baad me mujhe neele rang ke dabbe mil gaye the. Maharaj aur Maharani ke aate hi logo ke beech meri izzat kam hone lagi. Log unko zyada bhaav dete the. Lekin fir bhi mai middle class logo ke beech kafi priya thi. 2005 me meri behen Mughalsarai se Allahabad Varanasi hokar jane lagi. Mughalsarai to mujhse pehle pahuch jati thi lekin uss raaste par wo deisel engine se chalti hai isliye wo Allahabad aane me zyada samay lag jata tha. Isliye Fir Allahabad se hum dono ka ek hi samay milne laga Delhi tak ka. Samay ke saath baki dusre Rajdhanio ke fere badhte chale gaye. Pehle jin 3 samay me 6 rajdhanio ki niakala jata tha, ab wo sab apne apne samay par rozzana chalti hai! wo bhi ek baad ek! Upar se ab Kanpur shatabdi aur Duronto se bhi dushmani badhne lagi meri. 2013 me mujhe laal rang ke LHB dabbe bhi mile lekin meri speed nahi badhi. 2014 me speed badhakar waapus ghata diya gaya. Kanpur se Delhi pahuchte pahuchte agar mai raaste me 2 ghante bhi late ho jati hu to mujhe 1 ghante tak kisi bhi station par khada karke baki 5 rajdhani, shatabdi, duronto se overtake karwaya jata hai. Meri behen ka bhi yahi haal hai. Delhi se Howrah waapus lautne me aur bhi haalat kharab ho jati hai. waha to mujhe 4 rajdhani, 1 garibrath aur Sampoorna Kranti se overtake karwaya jata hai. Meri behen to ache Howrah pahuch jati hai lekin mujhe lautne me Mughalsari se Patna tak bahut dikkat hoti hai. Chain pulling se mai kafi pareshan hu. Kaash meri poorane ache din fir se laut aaye!!! Ab mai chalti hu apne yaatriyo ki dekhbhaal karne! Bye!!

Thanks Anna for bringing to light the history of 12303 Poorva Express. All that you have mentioned is by and large right. I shall now add some more info about this train dating prior to what you have described.
> These trains 12381-2/12303-4 were renamed as Poorva sometime in the 70s. Prior to that they were called AC or Deluxe Express.

by their erstwhile numbers 81/82 (via Gaya) and 103/104 (via Patna). Together they ran 7 days in the week, on 4 days via Patna and 3 days via Gaya.
> On 3 or 4 out of these 7 days, they plied upto Amritsar via New Delhi departing from NDLS around 1030 and reaching ASR at about 1830. On remaining 4/3 days this time slot was used by the Mumbai Central Amritsar AC/Deluxe Express now known as PASCHIM Exp.
> Initially when the Patna train was introduced, it used to leave HWH earlier than the Gaya version, both reaching NDLS at about 7 or 8am. Later their departure timings from HWH were identical but the Gaya version used to reach NDLS say about 2 hrs before the Patna train. However, the arrival timings at NDLS were also synchronized later by routing the Gaya train via Benares/Janghai to kill time.
> Later when the Paschim Express was converted into a daily train to Amritsar, the run of the Poorva pair of trains was curtailed at NDLS and their service to ASR was discontinued.
PS. I am recounting all this from memory and am open to correction.
