hey...i am planning to go from my place to mumbai and i have to go to a suburban station...say mulund...so if i book a reserved ticket or a general ticket...do i have a option of booking upto mulund and breaking the journey to travel by a local train...
if so can someboday explain the method for a reservation...i mean how to fill up reservation form in such case and for general booking...ie travelling by general class

OK Dear Rishi, U can do it easily, Get a Ticket from Nashik Rd to the desiganted stoppage of ur selected train, which is ahead of Mulund .For Mulund it will be either LTT, dadar or CSTM. Then detrain at designated stoppage which is just before your destination station say Mulund. So it can be kalyan or Thane...From there board the suburban train which stops at say Mulund..(remeber fast and slow locals). the express train U have purchased from Nashik rd to LTT/Dadar/CSTM is valid for your suburban travel from thane/Lalyan to Mulund..within specific time perion of 3 hrs of detraining at kalyan/Thane.. Yes one thing more, U cant book reserved or general tickets from outside mumbai suburban trains area (for nasik it will be beyond kasara) to suburban stations like mulund. For Nasik u can get tkts for KYN/TNA/LTT/DR/CSTM only.Thanks

on Konkan railway route, they do give tickets which are for suburban stations. e.g. from ratnagiri to Malad or Borivali. I have taken such tickets for ratnagiri dadar passenger.
