Seven coaches of Virar-Churchgate fast local got derailed between Andheri and Vile Parle o­n Up fast line at 11.00 hrs today. Divisional Railway Manager of Mumbai Central division and senior railway officials rushed to the site to monitor the restoration work. Fast lines between Andheri and Bandra were affected due to this incident. Slow lines, harbour lines and 5th line remained unaffected and trains were run though delayed.
             One passenger named Shri Sudhir Swaminathan aged 30 yrs has been admitted in Cooper Hospital due to injuries. The restoration work is being carried out o­n war footing and it is expected to restore the down fast line by 19.00 hrs while the up fast line is expected to be restored today by late night.
Western Railway has coordinated with BEST which will run extra buses between Churchgate and Andheri during evening peak hours today for the commuters.  Some long distance trains were terminated at Borivali and reversed in down direction.  Detailed CRS inquiry will be conducted into this incident.
