Giving priority to Shatabadi / Rajdhani over other mail / express / SF train is fine.
Here is a case of 2 similar kind of trains - DMU.
Both have same number of stops between PNC and PNBE.
73261 was running late by 12 minutes, whereas 73213 was already delayed at start by 18 minutes.

Even if it reaches GZH before time, it will get shunted for sure. Total waste of time.
