Besides Wam-2 and Wam-3 were the mainstays of Ir before I was even born....
I've not seen any WDM4's till date. However, I saw a model of that loco at National Rail Museum, Delhi.
I found a YT video of the same loco.

They are extremely rare...I was extremely fortunate to spot one at MAS!
You were very fortunate! As far as I know WDM4's were used only on the Calcutta-Delhi section and its surroundings. Must have to come to MAS as a mega-offlink!
It was a very odd hour spotting as well..........................I de-boarded at MAS at 3:00AM from the 13351 DHN-ALLP express,
and a silvery blue colour WDM-4 just stood at the adjoining platform, just by itself...........maybe coming off as an off-link......or waiting to be latched on an express train..........Who knows?????
That was my first & only WDM-4 spotting till now...................
