Dhanbad needs a dedicated train to Mumbai, so does Bokaro Steel City...Ranchi already has a dedicated train for Mumbai, hence this train avoides Ranchi, rather the Bilaspur-Nagpur line is very congested, hence that route has also been avoided.
Rather this train follows the much neglected CIC route upto Katni South and joins the Allahabad Mumbai Line at Jabalpur, Loco changeover points are Barkakana and Itarsi...
Train reversal occurs at Muri and Chopan!

MURI isn't a regular engine changeover point. MURI has no loco sheds nearby, while BRKA is a regular engine changeover point, PTRU loco shed is closeby. Due to this practical constraints, the loco changeover point has been selected as BRKA!
