Consider this...
People staying in south mumbai and bandra/khar/santacruz and to some extent andheri may find it more convenient to reach mumbai central/bandra terminus to catch a train whereas people in malad/kandivli/borivali/dahisar/mira bhayander/vasai/virar may have to go through a hassle of travelling all the way to south mumbai to catch a train and then come back the same route only..somewhere a minor adjustment needs to be done to cater to such passengers..and most trains don't stop for more than 2 mins at BVI due to busy platforms there..
Also one more thing...with excellent
...
bus services from Navi Mumbai and Thane to Borivali via Ghodbunder road, BVI station can be a boon for people from such places. Why would Navi Mumbai/Thane people come through the city traffic jam to BCT when they have a comparatively lesser traffic on Ghodbunder road to BVI? Looking at Central Line (esp Mulund, Dombivli) people going towards BRC, ADI, NDLS again Thane to Borivali road is a good connectivity...
hope I was able to answer your query..
