Hello Friends,
Hope you enjoyed my MG Vaigai pics. I still remember waiting at Dindigul station for this train - gives me goose bumps every time I think about it! This was in summer of 1985 and I had no idea what the train's livery was. I had only seen black-and-white pictures of the coaches in some ICF promo pamphlet. I was waiting on PF1, which was on a loop line. And then a YDM4A loco with green-and-yellow livery showed up with a rake of the same color. Mani Sir, the Meter Gauge Electric Loco looks awesome but IR may not have designed a Narrow Gauge Electric Loco with a Class Code like ZAM-1/2/.. etc. I don't remember if any Narrow Gauge route in India's Plain Areas was ever electrified by CORE over the decades. I just feel that right from the WG Steam via the WDM Diesel to the WAM Electric and latest the WAP Electric, IR never installed toilets in any of these locos. Hence, I've started an online petition in the support of the Railways Ministry installing toilets in all it's train locos across the IR Network. My childhood memories only consist of the WAM-1/2s between Baroda and Ratlam (seen from Paschim Exp) when it comes to old daddy electric locos :)
