My train is from Ambala Cantt in class 3rd AC. Can I sit in train from Sirhind with Mail/Express ticket in 3rd AC?
If caught how much i have to pay to TC?

After changing the boarding point you are not allowed to travel before the boarding point. Even if you have the ticket from Nangal dam but it is considered as ticketless travelling.

You have paid for extra journey. Thats your decision to travel from ropar or nangal dam. But all depends that whether your train's TTE don't object. Because he is the sole authority on train and hardly they would say for so short journey. But do take a general ticket from ropar to ambala cantt as your boarding point is changed. A simple general ticket can do lots of miracles in our country trains. Problem arises in longer legs like if someone books from place A to place C with boarding from place B. But distance between place A to place B is large, then IR allocates your seat to some other person who books from place A to place B. Then you have no right to sit on your seat before your boarding point.

Government humse choti choti fijul ki baato pe 10-10 rs leti hai. Just for example if we book a ticket from irctc, then under the name of service charge, catering charge, bank charges etc etc bolke regular fare se 30-40 rs extra le leti hai. Kitne hi transactions mein hidden charges ke naam pe extra paise liye jate hain.
So if a person do some short cuts for the convenience of himself, then there is nothing wrong in it. After all these so called "hypocratic" rules & regulations are made for the convenience of common people only.
