The ANDHRA PRADESH Express shortly called as AP , introduced in 1976 is a daily super fast Express connecting the City of Nizams Hyderabad to the nations Capital New Delhi and vice versa.The train was named after the then AP state.

Post the bifurcation of the Andhra Pradesh State , Hyderabad falls under the newly formed Telangana state which led to the name change. Effective 15th November 2015, AP Express is named as TELANGANA Express officially by the Indian Railways with out any change in the Train numbers, halts or Time Table.

The new train 22415 / 22416 running between Visakhapatnam to New Delhi via Vijayawada is named as Andhra Pradesh Express.

The previously running 17035 /17036 Telangana Express between Hyderabad and Sirpur Kaghaznagar Express is renamed as Kaghaznagar Express.

The AP Express has been serving connectivity to the two cities for 39 Glorious years and the name change is something uneasy to accept immediately. We wish the Legend a good start with its new name.
