It is firstly not a trunk route. Secondly the DHN-CRP & TELO-CRP section is ravaged by undergound fires caused by spontaneous ignition of the underground coal reserves. A lot of PSRs are in place here.
2. CRP-BKSC is a single line (doubling in process) in which this train compete for track space with the train coming from Dhanbad side, leading to lower average speeds.
3. Ranchi is hilly area. It is at 650+m high above MSA......and the trains make out through a huge number of curves and tunnels........leading to slower speeds between RNC & MURI
4. Mighty slacks provided in trains originating from Ranchi. Though there is a issue with tracks but this makes the trains even slower than they actually are! You will notice how train to/from Ranchi are rarely delayed.
Thats because of Slack-Devta at play here......
