Great news ! Rake can be used effectively by SWR itself by having comfortable RSA with UBL-SC.
But for me , I wish the rake to be transfered to CR
Reasons -
1) If its a CR rake ,then surely it will get halts at thane and kalyan which is difficult if it still continues to be SWR rake .
2) If its a CR train , then chances are in near future of speeding it up by giving priority...

What points you raised are good
Yes need halts at Thane and KYN and speedup is also a imp point
But i dont know why asking for extension again,UBL is not having more trains to give extensions.
If it is extended to harihar then why not to BAY also,its not fair

While the stoppages at TNA is totally valid, I dont see any issue with boards....Not having RSA just because it scrambles the board is not a valid point..
Yes, DVG already lies in the main line and has good connectivity to UBL. and also to LTT in form of chalukya series. which is not the same case with BAY/HPT area. So, if at all rake transferred is under consideration, and extension would be sorted out .
