A Shatabdi Express can be started from Howrah to Varansi (or Mughalsarai) with stoppages at Burdwan, Durgapur, Asansol, Dhanbad, Koderma, Gaya and Sasaram. Distance is 678 kms which can be easily covered in about 8 hrs to 8 hrs 30 mins because almost whole route is straight (very less curves and flat landscape) and rated for 130 kmph. Howrah Rajdhani also covers Howrah-Mughalsarai section in 7 hrs 52 mins and Bhopal Shatabdi covers 700 kms in 8 hrs. I think it will be a huge hit since there it will get lot of passengers for end to end as well as intermediate stations. Fellow members, please give your opinion on this.
