Initially when the train started it had only halts at Bhubaneshwar(2mins), Visakhapatnam(15mins) and Vijayawada(10mins) halts.
But now the number of halts has been increased to 10.
This train needs to be speed ed up.
There is no need of halts for the train at Balasore, Bhadrak, Khurda Road and Brahmapur. Hardly people board the train at these stations.

I agree.
No need to stop at Balasore,Bhadrak,Berhampore. There are several trains for Chennai which could carry passengers from these places.
Stoppage of 2842 at Ongole is for boarding LUNCH and at Santragachi is to facilitate Howrah bound passengers to alight earlier and cross the 2nd Bridge to move to other places of Kolkata which generally takes Double the time to reach from howrah.
