Cancellation is NOT allowed.
Why?
I booked both SL and 3AC tickets for same day, same train (both wait listed).
Today,I wanted to cancel both. I was able to cancel the SL ticket but got the below message when I tried to cancel the 3AC waitlisted ticket.

As you have shared negligible info Better contact IRCTC either via Phone or eMail.
