train will cover the 800 km distance in about 13
hours and 50 minutes and leave from Varanasi at
6:35 pm and reach New Delhi the next day at 8:25
am. The train will halt at Ghaziabad, Moradabad,
Bareilly, Lucknow and Sultanpur, he added.
. . He further said that the train with improved
passenger amenities, refurbished coaches and
aesthetically appealing interiors, comprises AC-1,
AC-2 and AC-3 and sleeper class bogies, and is well
equipped with added features like modern toilets,
LED lights, reading light, laptop and mobile charger,
snack table for side-berth passengers and much
more. All the coaches have been refurbished at the
coach rehabilitation workshop in Bhopal and the
decision on the fare structure is yet to be taken, he
informed.
. . Currently, over 20 trains run between Varanasi and
New Delhi, including Rajdhani, Garib Rath express
and other superfast trains, Swatantrata Express,
being the fastest which covers the distance in 11
hours 50 minutes.
