Had a short but surprise filled outing at SBC today. Went to see of my father who was heading to TPJ by the 16232 MYS MV express, while I spotted this amazing link gearing up to haul the SWR King- Karnataka Express. It was none other than KJM WDP4D 40237.
Other spottings include, LGD WAP7 30418 which brought in the 56909 passenger from Marikuppam, a Surprise visitor SRC WAP4 22577 in SBC yard, KJM WDG3A twins 13030& 13031 with SBC KCG SF, SBC MKM Swarna Fast Pass with RPM WAP7...

good to see its getting single loco instead of twin..twin is waste of resources..
In reality its not a waste of resources, its more or less the same, in twin ALCos, more fuel is consumed yes, but high acceleration is achieved and hence over a long distance the twins prove to be useful, especially in scaling ghats, although EMDs are known to be more fuel efficient, their acceleration is relatively slower and its proven to take a single EMD close to 17minutes on a flat stretch to accelerate upto 100kmph, having said that the ghats will be difficult, more so for trains like KK which has a more aggressive schedule compared to other trains in the same route.
