As per latest news from ECR, Sitamarhi, new BG line from Sitamarhi to Garha (Sitamarhi-Muzaffarpur new broad gauge line project) will be opened for passenger traffic on 15-Feb-2009!
Also, gauge conversion work on Sitamarhi-Bairganiya and Sitamarhi-RunniSaidpur sections will be completed by Mar-2009!

As per latest news from ECR, Gauge Conversion (GC) Work on Nirmali-Sakari line will start from 15.2.2009! Also, survey of Jayanagar-Janakpur-Bardibas new BG line work is over. It is now anticipated that proposed new BG line Bardibas-Janakapur-Jaynagar will need Rs. 600 Crores!

NR : Baramulla-Anantnag Passenger Flagged Off!
Anantnag-Budgam BG line was opened in Oct'08. Now, Budgam-Baramulla BG line was opened for passenger traffic. Inaugural Special Passenger ran from Baramulla to Mazhom. Regular direct services between Baramulla and Anantnag will start from 15-Feb-2009! The stations en-route are: Baramulla, Sopore, Hamre, Pattan, Mazhom, Budgam, Srinagar, Pampore, Kakapora, Awantipora, Panjgam, Bijbehara and Anantnag. Anantnag-Quazigand BG line will be completed in next 4 months.
