SPECIAL ARRANGEMENTS FOR AATUKKAL:
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Southern Railways has made elaborate arrangements for the Attukal Pongala. To facilitate the smooth travel of devotees, the Railways will operate special trains, include additional coaches, provide additional stoppages at smaller stations, set up additional ticket information and announcement counters and medical aid centres and enhance security coverage.
After Pongala, special trains will be run from Thiruvananthapuram to various destinations. Trains towards Kollam will be from platforms 1, 4 and 5 while trains towards Nagercoil will be be operated from platforms 2 and 3.

more... the day of Pongala, Movement on foot overbridges at Thampanoor station will be one-way. There will be restrictions on vehicle parking aslo.
Special trains on Monday: Kollam - Thiruvannthapuram Special train will leave Kollam at 3 pm to reach Thirurvannthapuram at 4.55 pm.
Special train on Tuesday: Train to Thiruvananthapuram will leave Kollam station at 4 am to reach here at 5.55 am.
Special Trains towards Kollam: After the Pongala, the first special train will leave from the Central Railway station at 1.45 pm to reach Kollam at 3.45 pm. The second one for Kollam will leave the Central Station at 3.45 pm to reach Kollam at 6.15 pm. The third special train will start from Thiruvananthapuram at 4.15 pm to reach Kollam at 6.15 pm.
The special trains will have stoppage at all stations in between Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam.
Towards Nagercoil: To start from Thiruvananthapuram at 2 pm to reach Nagercoil at 4.10 pm with stoppages at all stations.
Train No 56317 Kochuveli- Nagercoil Passenger will be rescheduled to leave at 2.50 pm from Thiruvananthapuram.

Augmentation of coaches
Twelve passenger trains running in Nagercoil -Thiruvananthapuram and Thiruvananthapuram-Kollam sections will run with additional coaches on Monday and Tuesday.
