This train must be extended to mangalore and mettupalayam via madras like its historical run,,,can be extended via katpadi,erode,coimbatore where a slip portion must be detached and must run upto mettupalayam and main train to mangalore continuing further via palakkad,shoranur,tirur,kozhikode,kannur,kasargod and mangalore ,,,,,this makes day time connectivity from chennai to mangalore and mettupalayam.
Ironically..historically it didn't terminate @ NDLS/DEE...so u mean to sync history & extend it upto ASR??
Make it hell of slip variants with most slip to serve intercity connectivity rather thn long route utility??

s if railways decide it can run upto ASR as MAS dont have direct connectivity to asr,,
a new train called delhi mail from chennai can be formed even if gt timings changes if extended,,
