why is that sometimes in ghat section there are 2 engines attached to the train? and also even in foggy conditions

ya may be you are right. I may have mistaken you for somebody else.
In ghat sections or high gradient, banker are been provided not for pull/push support (as power enhancer, as used to be an historic concept), as now LOCO are equipped with high power, but just to support from back, so that couple break chance minimizes (as on moving onto higher altitude, the couple gets the load of coach on them)!!

PS: If u find any short rake train, its not been provided with banker, as the load isnt that much which may cause danger on couple load!!

yaa venkat, i am very much familiar with this route, we were doing rly electrification in the year 1975 stationed at dantewada dwz and jagadalpur in thik jungle with snakes and lot of creatures.horrible time but enjoyed .all stations with kerosine lights and a free train called RR from vskp to kirandul 2 to 3 days run for one trip
diesel engines with boi wagons for iron ore with 3 engines.the trains names as DD ,dandaka damani.the unloading from boi wagons just tilt the wagon separated from wheels. lot more old memories
