Rs 440 cores have been sanctioned for the doubling of Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Bathinda line :) for 2016-17 !! Funds sanctioned for extension of PF1 at Patiala to accommodate longest possible train, plus development of circulating area at PTA. Plus, Extra funds for 3 LHS on Rajpura Patiala section in leu of LXing no 5,10 & 14, have also been sanctioned. Plus Rs 60 cr ha e been allocated for electrification of Rajpura-Patiala-Dhuri-Lehra Mohabat line for this fiscal year.

In previous budgets, heard only the name in proposal of project for electrification/doubling of this route, but this time funds allocated separately to initiate the work the soon, that's great, (jaise paisa de diya hai directly aur kaam karno ko bol diya hai kal se hi... :P) but fund allocated should be used correctly (fully), not to fall in wrong hands, I hope so this will not happen this time. :)

They have allocated a big chunk of funds for doubling, this is mainly that the bridges work may start soon..
