singhssandeep 725 blog postsI feel to improve arrival/depart timing of this train IR should keep third rake in IPR instead of NDLS. Turnaround timing at IPR is only 2hrs 15 min where in NDLS it has 8hrs:10 min. With on time departure at IPR there are chances it will also reach NDLS on time.
This suggestion is given to Railway Board 5 years back.

Still no use.. Rake at ndls is far better.. As it gets no priority ... So better for delhi pax that atleast it departs rt time from there.. Atleast they reach Pnbe with 3-4 hrs delay .. But d 12401 has a poor condition evn when it used to depart from ipr rt time... It reaches delhi alwz in d late evening .. Which will make it reschedule frm ndls ..better to change timings from both ends..
with 3 rakes, Nothing is required to be changed for 12402.
Timings of 12401 shall be changed -
IPR 10:10 -> PNBE 12:30 -> MGS 16:30 -> ALD 19:00 -> CNB 21:40 -> NDLS 05:15
15 hours of Turn around time at NDLS, sufficient for Right time departure at 20:00. Even if 12401 gets delayed by few hours, 12402 departure at 20:00 can...

yes, let 12402 reach IPR at whatever time :P
Give it a night halt at IPR.
