Could someone please give some idea of what exactly is creating these abnormal delays in this particular route? Is this track so congested that it is becoming difficult to pass even premium trains through this route and is this some temporary issue? I just want to get an idea because maybe next time I would rather take some train which avoids this route or something? But if the issue is indeed something secret of IR, just mention that and leave the matter
I just ask out of sheer curiosity as a railfan

I initially thought maybe there was some problem with the train engine or something but to my shock I later discovered that the other Rajdhanis and Durontos of this track have also faced been facing the same plight for past few days and got getting delayed by 2-3 hours and worse, many non-premium trains have got delayed by as many as 7-8 hours

Make no mistake, I am a big railfan but I do not like such abnormal delays of trains almost everyday

Even today, I travelled by BBS Rajdhani 22823 and I found it was standing somewhere near Surathu Sirathu station (in that MGS-Allahabad-Kanpur route) late at night for nearly 1
5 hours and I later discovered that the other Rajdhanis and Durontos of this track have also faced the same plight this week
Could someone please give some idea of what exactly is creating these abnormal delays in this particular route? Is this track so congested that it is becoming difficult to pass even premium trains through this route? I would rather now start taking air tickets than book rail tickets if this is the extent of delay of even premium trains of the country
