The Jharkhand state government is trying hard to convert Ranchi into a Railway zone that will cover the entire state. Currently the state is covered under 3 separate zones that are headquartered in other states :
South Eastern Railway - Kolkata (WB)

Tell me a single train since the creation of ECR that DHN has recieved. It is only benefitted from the passing trains due to its location. No augmentation of station amenities, constant delay of relocation of DHN-Chandrapura lines etc are all prevelant and wide open for scrutiny. Whatever new lines have been constructed in the CIC Section are the effort of Jharkhand Govt and Coal Companies. The Ranchi - Hazaribag line has been in a state of coma since a long time. There are so many incidents of neglect and this practice is quite similar to the happenings in undivided Bihar where Chotanagpur belt was constantly neglected and that caused the formation of Jharkhand state. Same attitude is being projected by ECR.
