What is the benefit of running a train with LHB coaches and constantly running 4-6 hrs late.
Other thing is I don't see any benefits of running LHB coaches other than safety, which can be provided by CBC couplers in conventional coaches. If talking about seats in a 22 coacher LHB in which 2 are SLR there is 1600 seats and in 24 coach normal train in which 2 are SLR there is 1584 seats. Then why is so much unnecessary hype about LHB. LHB is good for Raj and Duranto for 160 kmph operational speed. But according to RSDO 130 is fit for CBC coupled coaches.

An online news item has stated that on the intervention of Railways Minister Mr. Prabhu, ICF and RCF, Kapurthala have started to manufacture more LHB coaches and less of Non-LHB coaches. Before the minister's intervention, many coach factories were doing the reverse but now there will be more emphasis on LHBs. It seems that CBC Couplers, etc. all such things will be history in the next 20 years. RCF, Rae Bareli is already designing LHB Shells and may design full length coaches on its own so no question of conventional coaches here also. The last Non-LHB Coach will make news for all we Indian Rail Fans just like the last WAP-4 from CLW did which was commissioned for SRC ELS :)

PS: IR's Mission 2030 seems to be 100% 3-Phaser Electric Locos and 100% LHB Rakes for 120-130 Kmph travel!!!
