Indian Railways is saying Development , Development , Development (Vikas Vikas Vikas)...
Then i wish to suggest something for Indian railways.
Its high time now that the Ordinary Train category criteria needed to be changed.
Changes should be done like this:
1.
...
All trains having average speed more than 60 kmph should be called as "Superfast".
2. All trains having average speed between 49 kmph to 59 kmph should be called as "Fast Express".
3. All Non-passenger type trains having average speed below 49 kmph should be called as "Mail/Express" (M/E)".
The Speed Surcharge for SF type of trains should be :
SL - Rs 30.
AC - Rs 50.
The Speed Surcharge for Fast Express should be :
SL - Rs 10.
AC - Rs 20.
There should be no extra Speed regarding surcharges for Mail/Express (M/E).
By this those passengers will be saving some money who have to travel in those trains whose average speed is between 55kmph to 60 kmph.
Plus this 3 tier categorization is much just and beneficiary for people and Indian railways.
