But I think there is some problem in tracks of palakkad town railway station and is expected to finish within 1-2 months .
That might be the reason for the delay of rerouting the train
Also there is plan for a bypass line from pgtn to bypass palakkad junction so loco reversal and time could be saved

Even if it needs to loco reversal, better to re-route at the earliest, make indian railways more profitable. This train should be made tri-weekly initially then to daily.
as athul said railway can plan a bypass of junction so that train stops at town for 10 mins but even if now loco reversal needed its k that it is highly profitable in junction too and rb can run with reversing itself,,
But erode,salem and coimbatore people will be highly disadvantaged if this happens. Already many people use this train as a fast connectivity to mumbai!
