1) Kalka Mail
Initiated in 1864; this 01/02 was the primary way for government to transfer between its summer and winter capitals. The most important train on its route in its time.Sadly, it is delayed too much these days. Plays second fiddle to the Rajdhanis these days.

between Mumbai and Calcutta, this was one of the most luxurious services in the world[click here it is treated as a second class train by IR now. Runs via the longer route and bad patronage.
3)Frontier Mail
The first train with AC coaches; extremely punctual in its time. Runs between ASR and Mumbai nowadays, somewhat retains its glory.
4) G T Express
The name's enough. Legendary train(ran b/w Peshawar and Mangalore once), overshadowed by Rajdhani and TN superfast.
5)Taj Express
Primary link b/w Delhi and Agra when introduced,now plays supporting role to Gatimaan and Bhopal Shatabdi;still ISO certified though.
