I need to travel from banglore to chennai as I have a flight at 5:30 am from chennai airport. As far as I see, no train is available from banglore which reaches chennai before 4 am.
So all I can do is take a bus.

You said flight is at 05.30 am. So by 04.45 check in closes. Chennai airport security check is too much congested and consumes lot of time. Considering this, check in before 04.30. An overnight bus or Yercaud express even if punctual you cannot make it to airport by 04.45, the check in closure time.
Actually i dont need to check in as i would get boarding pass in advance(thanks to web check in). So all i have to do is clear security.
Nonetheless as you suggested taking yeracud would be quite risky. I will avoid that.

If u reach CMBT by 03.30 am then u can comfortably make it to airport by 4.15. U wont have any problem.
