0987 / 0988 Shatabdi spl between Vasai Rd - Surat and Surat - Vasai Road respectively have been cancelled w.e.f. 11.1.2010 in view of low occupancy factor as feared earlier repeatedly on the forum blogs. There is a dire need for super fast intercity trains between these two stations, albeit with fare structure affordable and timing suitable. Jan Shatabdi or normal superfast trains with II / AC CC seats be deployed for serving the passengers on this route. In future, such trains may be started from Borivali to Surat with required intermediate stops.
