Mysterious death of a 20-year-old man on the Satna-Rewa railway track sparked protest by villagers near the Baghai railway station in Satna district on Wednesday.Rail traffic on the Satna-Rewa rail section was halted for over 4 hours by villagers who alleged that fellow villager Alagu Singh (20) didn’t die in an accident, but was murdered before being thrown on track.The agitated villagers demanded lodging of murder case against unidentified accused and also sought that sniffer dogs be brought to the spot for investigations.With the sniffer dog with Satna police already injured, another sniffer dog was pressed into action from Rewa and after police assurance to take up the mysterious death on priority the track blockade which started at 12.30 pm ended at around 4.45 pm.It was at around 10.30 am that the 20-year-old cement factory worker Alagu, a resident of Sejata village of Satna district was spotted dead on the track....

The matter was reported by fellow villagers to the GRP Satna soon, but the cops didn’t arrive at the spot allegedly till an hour, angering the villagers.The villagers blocked the track subsequently and ended the protest over four hours later. The protest saw three trains, includingAnand Vihar-Rewa Express and Jabalpur-Rewa Express stranded at the railway track for hours.“The mutilated body has been sent for post mortem examinationand the matter lodged under Section 174 of CrPc,” GRP Satna outpost in charge Sitaram Bagri said.
