7 Aug 2013- Alok Kumar Singh, CPRO, NER, said, “The yard remodelling work will be very beneficial for the passengers though they will face some difficulties during the work. After the remodeling work passengers will not have to wait for long hours for trains. At present the platforms at Gorakhpur Cant and Domingarh are not free at many times causing delay in the arrival of the trains but after the remodeling work, there will be 10 platforms available at Gorakhpur station. The capacity of platform number 1 and 2 will be increased to 26 coaches and Gorakhpur railway station will become the Asia’s longest platform in with an expansion upto 1,380 meter.”
