No train can do 73 speed between Mangalore and Hassan. The section is full of ghats. You need minimum 5 hrs to cover the distance. Halt at Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya is a must. They can be skipped. Avg speed between these two stations musnt exceed 35 kmph.
