this is one of the oldest train which is running between hubli and bangalore. before 1982 when the line between GTL and SBC was meter gauge trains from mumbai then bombay, guntur, hyderabad, chennai then madras use to come to guntakal junction and only train towards bangalore was hampi.exp. it used to leave guntakal at around 6 - 6:30 pm , and used to reach bangalore by morning 6 - 7 am through yeshwanthpur as there was no line to yelankha through cantt. you cannot ask to reroute a heritege train. there are lot of train between SBC and UBL via DVG use them insted.

How about re-routing Hampi Express via Harihar, Kottur to Hospet and further to Bellary (This can be thought of after conversion of Kottur-Harihar line).
