Makalidurga is a station around 60km North of Bengaluru, and is a brilliant spot for railfanning. Decent place for short treks as well, and from the top of the ghats one can see trains snaking along the Bengaluru-Dharmavaram route.

Nice photos Ashok. Doubling work has started. Last time when I visited here with Tanweer in 2014, there was no sign of doubling.
