Yes, I was told these are local trains connecting Colombo with nearby suburbs..
Have Read Somewhere that India provides Coaches, locos etc to Srilanka as a Goodwill gesture. Are these DMUs India made or imported from somewhere else?
Yes, I also saw some old Indian DMU coaches but now China is supporting them majorly in every sector and in Railways also they are providing China made coaches, upgrading their rail signaling system and all..
But in road transport Indian companies still rule in Sri Lanka. 90% of Sri Lankan buses and trucks are Ashok Leyland and Tata manufactured vehicles.
