HOG doesnt mean getting power from OHE alone. Its just the loco providing electricity. Also EMDs dont cause pollution. They are more environment friendly. They dont chug and smoke like alcos do. You can seldom see EMDs smoking. You can see that in any video. Whereas alcos release thick black cloud of smoke.
