Ahmadabad is called Manchester because its co-relation with the original Manchester city which was bubbled on global map due its yarn and textile hosiery after industrialization.whereas Ludhiana is called Manchester because its Heavy Hosiery(textile) and cycle industries(in present time there is no competitor of Ludhiana in these area).beside this kanpur also shares this title due to its industries(mainly leather industries).
