Btw why dont u compare india and china in mortality rate,Number of malnourished children,Number of farmers committing suicides,Number of people dying each year in rail related accidents, percentage of population below poverty line..Just because you are living a lavish life and you can buy even a ticket to mars doesn't mean that everyone is prosperous enough in our country...we live in a country where a person spending 27 rupees a day isnt considered poor..
India has a huge middle class population too who travels in Planes, buy tickets of AC coaches and is ready to pay for services. Indian Domestic Airline Industry is growing with max. pace in the whole world. Shouldn't the county do anything for those taxpayers too? India is not only for poor but for all. By going with your logic all those things which the poor people of this country can't afford should be removed!!! These socialist things seems very pretty to speak but harsh to experience. Why don't you travel in general coaches then, why spending that much money on AC tickets which you can give to any poor in charity. At-last the main motive is traveling whether in general or AC coach that shouldn't matter. Will you do that??? Development should be for all and no country can prosper if it focuses on only one class. Development of...

NE region was very backward & had was very poor connection with rest of India at the time of Independence. Rail & Road connections were established on priority after India got independence. A lot of development did took place in NE after independence esp. Assam which got connected well quite early by 1980s/90s and many further eastern states like Manipur, Nagaland etc were connected (poorly) by road to Assam. People of this region so could not join the main stream of the nation in a complete manner in spite of the fact that Indian Govt spend very heavily on them while starving its mainland contributing states. Huge financial allocation to NE projects (all of them financially bleeding), many of them being prioritized as National Projects, bear testimony to this fact.

Most vehemently opposing criticisers of HST in parliament sessions are the ones who had announced the Mumbai-Ahmedabad in the same parliament many times earlier when they were presenting the Rail budget! But they were be-fooling the Indian public by not implementing the same since many years! Now the other Govt. started implement it, after managing a never before almost interest free loan agreement with Japan much to the benefit of India, they are crying horse and criticising it tooth and nail.!!
The same criticisers lobbied hard & did all out efforts to prevent construction of rail lines (including HST lines), roads & other industries through successfully blocking of Land acquisition bill. Ironically they brought in similar bill in parliament about 7-8years...
