The palace provides fantastic photography opportunities from outside. Photography is not allowed from inside. You can also take battery operated vehicle which takes tour of the palace.
As per my knowledge the palace is lit up with over 1,00,000 lights from 7 PM to 7:30 PM every Sunday evening. Unfortunately, our trip did not allow us to be present at that moment.

There are no direct trains from Mysuru to Ratlam as per my knowledge. One can take 12975 from Mysuru and Get down at Nagda Junction which is around 40 kms away from Ratlam. Alternatively, one can take 12613 Tippu Express from Mysuru to Bengaluru Junction, 11014 from Bengaluru Junction to Pune Junction and either 22943 Pune - Indore Superfast (M,T,T,F,S) or 12939 Pune - Jaipur Superfast (S, W) to reach Ratlam Junction.
I have created chain for this. The chain number is 22689. You can check other chains as well
