I guess railways just want to extract money by increasing base fares from passengers who are in severe need of travel.
No discourging intermediate paxs to book tatakal tkt if below 500km , so pax have to pay tatkal fare of above 500km even if intermediate stns come under 300.400km
Is it only for long distance trains for intermediate stations or also for trains running with 300-500km distance like SC MTM express. I even have a doubt how day intercity express are charged as per actual km??
