Due to lack of spares for future maintenance. These locos were not procured in a proper manner and were taken out of service many times due to lack of spare parts. Some components were manufactured in India after reverse-engineering them, but it was always a big problem. Previously some were condemned to be used as bank of spare parts for the remaining locos. Most of them still have about 10-12 years of operational life left.
