Yes, you are right. But over the last few years, a big chunk of rolling stock has been scrapped after GC. Mostly because IR is just refurbishing older coaches instead of building new ones for NG and MG ( You can see a manufacturing date of 1987 marked on one of the coaches ), so each isolated NG/MG's section's rolling stock keeps getting recycled for it's own use. The locos may be transferred, but the coaches will more likely than not be scrapped if it weren't for the museum. The freight wagon's re at even greater risk of being scrapped as there is very tiny amount of NG freight on IR now.
