Development of 5500 hp diesel loco is a great achievement and has immense utility, especially keeping in view the adoption of higher axle load for freight trains and the longer (26coach)/ speedier express trains (160kmph) planned in near future. But the recent decision of electrifying 24000 kms in next 6 years have made this development not so useful.
