Since Mr Nitish Kumar, every RM creates his/her own baby which proliferates during their reign and become orphan after the RM goes.

Madhav Rao Scindia-1988 Shatabdi Express was introduced as fastest train char car day time intercity train between major capital/commercial/population centers primarily to to serve business class/ rich paxs/ foreign tourists. Good Concept which helped grow business and added to tourism of our country.

Nitish Kumar-Jan Shatabdi-A convenient superfast chaircar connection between major cities with comfortable chanircars insted of inconveniet IIS with 5-10% extra base fare.- New & good concept. A branded train/Shatabdi for poor. JS have great potential, about 100 pairs of JS can exist between different cities of India.
Nitish Kumar-Samopark Kranti-Super fast trains to connect major cities of a state to national capital with minimal stops outside the state. New and Good concept. But after announcement of the trains, Nitish Kumar could not ensure the required priority and speed that should have been given to these trains. As a result SKs became just ordinary SFs with lesser-stops but slower-speed & lower-priority than other premium SFs like TN, Swaraj, AP etc. Else SKs should have been extremely popular and prestigious like Rajs and could have a cult following. These trains should have been called JanRajdhani Express instead of SK. Separate livery should have been given to these trains.

Lalu Yadav Garib rath- All ACIII Economy train with 2-3% lower base fare and with generator car facility (130kmph ICF rake). Bringing the ACIII with in the reach of common man was the motto which was very good concept. So side middle berth was launched in ACIII to increase the no. of pax from 64 to 72 and fare reduced by just 2-3% with no concession of any type allowed. The concept was very poorly implemented but so shrewdly implemented that the elated passengers (for cheap ac travel) could not recognise that their pockets have actually burnt in disguise of 2-3% discount. The better option could have been to keep layout of SL coaches with 72 berth instead introducing SMB. Better option could have been to attach SG Economy ACIII coaches in all the express train than having GR with less number of coaches. Price should have been 15-25% lower than ACIII as the number of berths have increased by 12.5% and a lower profit margin should be aimed from relatively poorer paxs travelling in these coaches. Had these steps taken instead of introducing GRs, AC travel really could have been in the reach of many more paxs and presence of 10 ac coaches could have been a standard in a 24 coached SF train.

Mamta Banerjee-Introduced Duronto trains although non stop very fast trains between Major metros is actually a good concept and had earlier been considered by IR but was not introduced. In fact Sampoorna Kranti Express (No commercial stop between Delh-Patna 990km) was already introduced by Mr Lalu (?) as a special privilege to his home state was actually first Duronto (non stop) train by definition. These trains have a limited scope and should have been introduced between major metros only, but were actually introduced in almost every nook and corner of our country. RM wanted such trains to proliferate inspite of the fact that there was not much scope for such trains, as a result many Durontos had poor patronage and caused losses to IR. Departmental stops must have been declared as commercial stops as there is no logic to deny public the due facility where the train stop for departmental activity.
Mamta Banerjee Introduced AC DD express between HWH & Dhanbad which turned out to be a very big failure. More than half of the trains in these series very badly failed and have to be cancelled. Charges of ACDD seat should have been about 25-40% cheaper than normal acc chaircar, but greed of profiteering (very poor marketing acumen displayed by IR) derailed the very concepts. Better option was to connect ACDD coaches with highly patronised chaircar intercities like Gomati, Karnavati, Vaigai etc and popular Shatabdies, rather than ACDD trains.
Mamta Banerjee-Rajya Rani,KaviGuru,Vivel ets series of train were introduced and there was nothing like any concept behind them and they have normal blue livery

Suresh Prabhu-Humsafar-All ACIII train with better pax amenities and a bit higher fare like Raj. Better to give same facilities to Raj Paxs
Suresh Prabhu-Tejas-ACC/EC train with better amenities than shatabdi and a bit higher fare. Better to convert some of the popular shatabdi into Tejas with higher fare. Or a new class of coache called ACCSuper or ACCDelux can be created with better amenities and higher fare.These coaches can be attached to existing trains.
Suresh Prabhu-Antyoday-All non ac unreserved train like jansadharan exp but with better pax amenities esp water filter in each coach. Totally unwanted and populist measure and shall increase the pax losses. IR have not learnt any lessons from Mahamana. IR shall introduce flexifare in all the trains to makeup for losses.
Suresh Prabhu-UDAY-ACDD chaircar night trains on crowded routes. Better not to venture.
None of the above can be called a new concept, but seems to be an effort to increase price and give better amenities. Over last 2 decaded, populism has touched unmeasurable heights and such is the fear amognst the RM/political party against the non ac general class fare increase, that direct increase of fare in antyoday trains is not being attempted even after giving much better facilities. In short all the four new avtaars are unwanted

In a nutshell
In general Rajdhani, Shatabdi, SK, JanShatabdi, Duronto are good concepts(All have distinct livery except SK)
ACDD, III Economy(GR) coaches are good concepts but failed due to wrong implementation and attempt to profiteer by IR.
Trains like ACDD, Antyoday,GR,Tejas, Humsafar, UDAY etc trains are not so good concepts.
RajyaRani i.e. connecting a state capital with other major cities of the state can be a useful concept but not applicable all state capitals. In large states like UP, TN, Maha, Raj, Karnataka, Guj etc many Rajya ranis shall be required, rationing one to many states is not a solution. In fact JS trains can serve the purpose of Rajya rani exp. LKO, MAS Infact Most of IC expresses are playing the role of Rajyarani like Vaigai, Paandyan, Gomati, Karnavati etc.
