The Railways say it is a super fast rtrain. But I do not understand the logic behind her halt at very ordinary stationslike pattambi, Prappanangadi, Tirur, Kuttippuram, Payangadi, Nileswar etc. Either skip these halts or make it an ordinary express train. This art of renaming ordinary Mail/Express trains as super fast trains was conceived by the former Rail mantri, Lalu and his stooge Sudhir Sharma to show cash surplus in the railway's kitty. The very naming of the train is absurd. There is no railway station in Lakshadweep. The train is neither super nor fast.

Before KRC this was an ordinary train running from Mangalore to Nizamuddin and was called Mangala express. Once KRC started it began running through KRC and was converted into superfast and extended to Ernakulam. This is the only daily train to Delhi which is passing through the above said stations. So this may be the reason for stops. Once it crosses the state boundary it is really fast with less stops.
you cannot common on the naming of the trains, because every name in indian railways other than the names of originating/destination stations, i.e. specific names kept to trains like venkatadri express, tirumala express etc are also of no meaning at all. But they r kept following the names of famous places . Tirumala express does not mean that the train should start from top of Tirupati hill, and Godavari express does not mean that the train should flow along with Godavari river. Similarly Andaman islands does not also have a rly stn, but still a train from Mas to Jammu Tawi has this name. This is just named from the famous island belonging to india.
i dont understand this 55 kmph limit. in this age you call that superfast? its just a gimmick to make more money. best buses go above 55. so they are superfast. then the pune volvos which easily do over 100 should be called bullet fast?
i think there is railway line in andaman. maybe not used for passenger traffic. not sure though
This train is having this much stop not because of daily train to Delhi but for daily commuters. It is hard to believe that daily persons commute between Delhi and these small stations.
