How many of my dear friends agree with the fact that it's high time that measures must be taken to 'DE-CONGEST' the overloaded section of CNB-NDLS (via ALJN), by constructing an 'ALTERNATIVE ROUTE' via CNB-Farrukhabad-Kasganj-Atrauli-Khurja-NDLS.
Presently, Kanpur-Kasganj section is SINGLE DIESEL, and could be utilized in future to cater NDLS bound traffic from CNB and vice-versa. It was included in the rail budget of 2012-13 (if I am not wrong), but never acted upon.

* A huge step has already been taken to decongest CNB-NDLS (via ALJN) by way of fast construction of double lined high capacity Eastern DFC from LDH-Delhi-CNB-MGS-Sonnagar & ultimately to Kolkata.
* CNB-Farrukhabad-Kasganj-Atrauli-Khurja-NDLS is a much slower (10 hrs against 6-7 hrs) and longer (491kms against 440kms) route and shall not be so effective as an alternative route.
