MG also operates also 30 kmph.i am also thinking about this, why they take conversion from MG to BG?
30 kmph ? So this project created the contractors huge money. Also waste of tax payers money.
Another waste from railways
Another waste from railways
The slow down was expected. BG is not suitable for ghat sections, unless a very huge expenditure is involved. With heavier coaches, wagons, locomotives and rails, the routes also become very restrictive. The gauge conversion is only to provide a continuous service, instead of making passengers switch trains twice. And also to reduce freight costs both for IR as well as the freight customers. The only benefit for the passenger is increased capacity per train.
