Now that the Bengaluru-Hassan New railway line (short cut) is complete (or nearing completion) it would be appropriate if the Bengaluru-Mangaluru train be diverted by this route. Or introduce new pair of trains via this route (i.e. via Nelamangala, Kunigal, Yediyur, Hassan ...). If the train is superfast, then the stoppage between Yeshwantpur to Mangaluru could be at Kunigal in between these routes. Else, it could be Nelamangala, Kunigal, Yediyur and Shravanabelagona (if Express).
Expecting around 3-4 trains per day between Yeshwantpur and Hassan (two express and two passenger, express train continuing further).
